Skin Care Essentials: What You Need In Your Routine

Does the idea of putting together a good skin care routine overwhelm you? Take it easy; it doesn’t have to be complicated!

A common misconception about skin care routines is that they’re too tedious or expensive. That doesn’t have to be the case. It’s really just about understanding what your skin needs, what products work together, and when to use them to get the best results.

Before you start creating your own routine, you need to know what your skin type is. By knowing what type of skin you have, you’ll know how to take care of it. Tip: take our Skin Analyzer Test to determine your skin type.

Once you have that down, take note of your major skin concerns. Do you want to get rid of blemishes? Are you prone to breakouts? You will have to tweak your skin care routine to address specific skin concerns.

Here’s a helpful table on what type of products you need, when to apply them, and what they do for your skin. If you have other concerns, you may have to add more products or steps to target them.

What is it for? Best practices
Step 1:
Water is not enough to clean your face. Regular soap may be too harsh. A gentle cleanser does the job and helps other products work better. ·       Avoid rubbing or tugging your skin.

·       Pat skin dry with clean towel.

Step 2:

Toner helps remove last traces of makeup and dirt. It also soothes and preps it for moisturization ·       Take extra care when applying around the eye area where skin is more sensitive.

·       Use an alcohol-free toner which doesn’t dry the skin.

Step 3:

Exfoliants gently remove buildup of dead skin cells that clog pores and make skin look dull. ·       Exfoliate once or twice a week with a scrub or an exfoliating cleanser <Hydration Gentle Exfoliating Facial Wash>

Step 4:

Moisturizers hydrate the skin and keep it smooth and supple. This is an important step for all types of skin. ·       Gently massage moisturizer in a circular motion onto your face and neck.
Special step:

For treating acne, apply anti-acne serum to treat affected areas before moisturizing. ·       For acne-prone skin, consider using high-performance acne-clearing products <Acne Solutions> throughout your routine.
